  1. The following instructions describe how to pair any mobile phone with a Beats Pill XL. First you need to turn on the Beats Pill XL by holding the power button, hold the round 'b' logo for 3 seconds until the button flashes. This indicates that the speaker is in pairing mode and ready to connect to the mobile phone.
  2. These instructions assume your phone is capable of stream music using Bluetooth. As all mobile phones are different please visit the Mobile phones page to see if your specific make and model is listed first. If the phone is not on the list but supports Bluetooth A2DP streaming then open the settings or options page on the phone, look for the Bluetooth menu and make sure the Bluetooth option is turned on.
  3. Select the Beats Pill XL from the list of nearby devices to connect to the phone.
  4. You can now play music on a Beats Pill XL wirelessly from any mobile phone. When the Bluetooth speaker has been paired the round 'b' button will stop flashing and glow. Next time you can turn on the speaker and it will automatically connect to the mobile phone without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the round 'b' logo to glow. The Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker can connect to eight Bluetooth devices, each time it is turned on it will attempt to connect with the the mobile phone unless you connection another device. To connect any mobile phone to a Beats Pill XL the correct cable to use to connect any mobile phone to a Beats Pill XL.

  1. These instructions show you how to hook up any mobile phone to a Beats Pill XL using a cable to play audio.
  2. First locate the headphone socket on the phone. It is a small round socket on the phone which is 3.5mm in size and you may need to refer to your phone's instruction manual to find this. It is sometimes referred to as a headphone jack, 3.5mm jack or 3.5mm phone connector [3].
  3. Turn the Bluetooth speaker around so the back is facing you ensuring the power is switched off.
  4. Access the IN port by pulling out and rotating the rubber port cover to the left of the 'beats pill xl' logo. The IN port is located between the power and OUT ports.
  5. Connect the headphone socket on the mobile phone to the IN on the Beats Pill XL port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
  6. Any audio on the phone should stop playing on the phone speaker and will play on a Beats Pill XL instead.
