These instructions assume you are running Apple iOS 7 or greater on the iPhone 6 Plus. Ensure you have version 1.27 or greater of the Jabra Solemate Max firmware, visit the official Jabra Solemate Max support site [2] to download the latest version. You can switch off the default 'Solemate is connected' announcements by holding down the Volume down button when turning on the Jabra Solemate Max until you hear 'Sound prompts off'.

  1. The following instructions describe how to pair the iPhone 6 Plus with the Jabra Solemate Max. On the right hand side of the Jabra Solemate Max locate the power slider, there are three settings - off, on and bluetooth. From the off position slide up the power switch all the way to the top and hold until the indicator light starts flashing blue and you hear the announcement "Go ahead and connect me, use the Bluetooth setting on your phone".
  2. From the home screen on the phone open the Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and make sure the Bluetooth option is turned on.
  3. Underneath select Jabra Solemate Max from the list of nearby devices to connect to the iPhone, it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
  4. The Jabra Solemate Max and the iPhone 6 Plus are paired and ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application that plays audio will bring up a list of devices where you will be able to toggle between headphones, the loudspeaker and the Jabra Solemate Max. In future you can turn on the Jabra Solemate Max and it will automatically connect to the iPhone 6 Plus without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the "Solemate is connected" announcement.

  1. These instructions show you how to hook up the iPhone 6 Plus to the Jabra Solemate Max using a cable to play audio. First locate the headphone socket at the base of the iPhone.
  2. With the speaker turned off locate the line in port on the Jabra Solemate Max. This can be located on the right of the speaker between the power switch and the USB port.
  3. Connect the headphone socket on the iPhone 6 Plus to the line in on the Jabra Solemate Max port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [3].
  4. Any sounds from the iPhone 6 Plus will stop playing on the phone speaker and play on the Jabra Solemate Max instead.
  5. When the line in port is used the Bluetooth facility will be disabled, you'll hear a "Bluetooth off" announcement and you'll only be able to listen to audio from the iPhone 6 Plus. The Jabra Solemate Max and the iPhone 6 Plus are now connected and can to be used to play audio.
