These instructions assume that you have installed Apple iOS 7 or greater on the iPad 3. These instructions show you how to connect to Beats Pill 2 speakers to the iPad 3. - Follow these steps to pair the iPad 3 with a Beats Pill. First you will need to turn on the Beats Pill by pressing and releasing the power button, you can find the power button located the top of the Beats Pill. Then press and hold the 'b' for three seconds until the Bluetooth LED found at the back of the Pill quickly flashes white. This indicates that the Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode.
- From the home screen on the phone open the Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and turn the Bluetooth option on.
- Underneath select Beats Pill from the list of nearby devices to pair with the iPad, shortly afterwards it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
- The Beats Pill and the iPad 3 are paired and ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application on the iPad that can play audio will bring up a list of devices where you will be able to toggle between the headphones, loudspeaker and a Beats Pill. When the Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker has been paired to the iPad 3 the light will stop flashing and glow white.

- With the device turned off locate the IN port found at the rear of the speaker to the left of the power button.
- Connect the headphone socket on the iPad 3 to the IN on the Beats Pill port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
- From now on audio from the iPad 3the tablet will stop playing on the loudspeaker and play on a Beats Pill instead.
- After switching on the speaker you should be playing music from the iPad 3. The Beats Pill and the iPad 3 are now connected and ready to be used to play audio. [AD]
