How to connect the iPad Mini to a Beats Pill

These instructions assume that you are running Apple iOS 7 or greater on the iPad Mini. These instructions show you how to connect to Beats Pill 2 speakers to your iPad Mini. Note that this page refers to the Beats Pill 2 and not the original Beats Pill first generation, visit the Beats page for the full range of Beats bluetooth speakers. How to connect to a Beats Pill from the iPad Mini using Bluetooth

- The following instructions describe how to pair the iPad Mini with a Beats Pill. First turn on the Beats Pill by holding the power button, you can find the power button located the top of the Bluetooth speaker. Hold the 'b' for three seconds until the Bluetooth light located on the back of the Pill blinks white. This indicates that the Beats Pill speaker is in pairing mode.
- On the home screen of the phone choose the Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and turn the Bluetooth option on.
- From the nearby devices list select the Beats Pill, shortly afterwards it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
- The Beats Pill and the iPad Mini are now ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application that can play audio will bring up a list of devices where you’ll be able to toggle between headphones, the loudspeaker and a Beats Pill. When the Bluetooth speaker has been paired to the iPad Mini the Bluetooth light will glow solid white.
- In the future you can turn on the speaker and it will automatically connect to the iPad Mini without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the Bluetooth LED to glow white. The Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker can pair with eight devices, when you turn it on it will try to connect with the most recent Bluetooth device.

- These instructions show you how to hook up the iPad Mini to a Beats Pill using a cable to play audio. Firstly locate the headphone socket at the top right of the iPad Mini.
- With the Bluetooth speaker turned off locate the IN port located at the back of the speaker to the left of the power button.
- Connect the headphone socket on the iPad Mini to the IN on the Beats Pill port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
- Any sounds from the iPad will stop playing on the loudspeaker and play on a Beats Pill instead.
- After turning on the speaker you will be playing music from the iPad Mini. The Beats Pill and the iPad Mini are now connected and ready to be used to play audio. [AD]
